My story, My why, My Purpose behind Life Coaching
Hi, my name is Savanna Pohlmann and I am beyond excited to begin my journey as a life coach! I have lived in Omaha, Nebraska my entire life and love it here! I went to Papillion La Vista South for High School and went on to play collegiate softball at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa where I obtained a degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology and minored in Small Business and Rural entrepreneurship. I always knew that I wanted to fulfill an occupation that would push me to be a better person and that allowed me to become successful and an inspiration to others. Growing up, having a dad as my strength and conditioning coach, inspired my passion for coaching others. During undergrad I had the opportunity to train faculty members for completion of a capstone project to fulfill my Exercise Science Degree. During this time, I grew my own small business, called “SavAesthetics”, after I grew a passion for business and using my creativity and crafting skills to learn what it takes to be an entrepreneur. After graduation, I took a gap year and then got accepted into Creighton’s Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program and began my journey to become an Occupational Therapist. After my first year, I realized that Occupational Therapy was my passion but struggled with some classes and was dismissed from the program. This change, had a huge impact on where I was at in life because I was faced with adversity and had to pave a new path for the success of my future.
Since coaching has always been a passion of mine, I began looking into jobs where I could utilize my degree and skills to impact the lifestyles of others. Life coaching was the first thing that caught my attention. Life coaching allows you to open up new horizons and focuses on striving for success in the future and how to become better at the things you do throughout your life that are important to your success and path you pave for yourself.
I am beyond excited to begin my journey as a life coach because I know how much this can play an impact on the life of another while doing the same for yourself. With life coaching, I want to help you eliminate feelings of self-doubt from past experiences and build upon new ones to improve the ultimate success of your future.
A little bit about me and what drives my motivation for living my greatest life…
My Family
Out of all the things in my life, my family is the most important thing to me and one of the main reasons for my success throughout school and to becoming the adult that I am. They have taught me lessons that sparked my growth and have allowed me to create habits that have influenced my life
Capturing the things that make me happy
One thing you’ll learn about me is that I LOVE taking pictures wherever I go. Life is all about capturing the little moments and remembering all the amazing things you do throughout your life. When life allows it, traveling, exploring new places, going for walks, and trying new food is one of my favorite things to do. God created a beautiful place for us so enjoy it while you can!

My Journey with focusing on my health and well-being as a student-athlete.
Growing up as a student-athlete, one of the greatest lessons I taught myself was how important it was to become in sync with my mind to body connection and putting forth my best effort to work harder than anyone else. They say “hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard,” and I live by this.
All before attending college, I quit one sport to be able to become stellar at another, I had two concussions throughout high school playing softball, I broke my tailbone during a state softball game, I was cut from a team and then made a nationally ranked team, and committed to playing softball at Buena Vista University a D3 school in Storm Lake, Iowa.
At the collegiate level, I learned more about myself as not only an athlete but as a student and professional. During my time in college, I spent my time defining skills within Exercise Science and Coaching, was able to help train faculty members, and put my focus into my health and fitness in order to stay healthy and fueled.
I spent my time learning how to become better at professionally speaking, learning what it takes to become an entrepreneur, and took classes that taught me the importance of Nutrition, the Biomechanics of the human body, and what all goes into being a coach.
I was faced with adversity during my 5th year softball season after I tore my hamstring and was unable to play for more than half of the season. As someone who is motivated and driven to being active and playing the sport I loved, this was a difficult thing to process.
During this time, I spent more time in the classroom and doing the best I could as a student, I learned how to overcome challenges with ADHD and anxiety in the classroom, and spent time working with my Athletic Trainer to rehabilitate my hamstring in hopes of playing before the end of the season. My confidence, which was something I had spent years improving on in order to become the athlete I was both mentally and physically, took a decline. There were countless nights where I felt guilty for not being able to be on the field playing with my team because one of the main things that allowed me to express the person I was and grow and develop into the athlete I was, was taken from me for what felt like forever.
Recovering was not an easy journey, but was worth it in the end. I realized that your physical abilities aren’t the only things that make you who you are but also defining the person you are outside of that. I made sure that I was eating healthy and hydrating, and I began planning for graduation and what was to come after. I met with my professors and coaches regularly, and grew as a student. I relied on my support system as a way to boost confidence within myself and learned how to overcome adversity.
My health and well-being has always been something that I focus on maintaining and improving because it translates into all areas of my life and has benefitted me each and every day, both good and bad days.
The Pohlmann Potential Tip #1:
Learning to control the controllable gets you further than focusing on what you can’t control. Life gives you endless opportunities to strive and improve so being openminded to what’s next instead of dwelling on the past is something to always keep in mind.
